Netheos, SAS was founded in April 2004 by Xavier Facélina and Olivier Détour. Located in Montpellier, France, the company works mainly in the banking and financial sectors, with activities also reaching into energy and telecommunications.
As a software developer and engineering firm centered on online fraud protection, Netheos offers its customers innovative long-term solutions to ensure security for data and digital services, such as web-based services, electronic transactions, remote access, and more. Netheos eKeynox software suite facilitates deployment and maintenance of secure and mobile applications on Smart Devices (such smart cards, smart USB tokens or smart phones) by providing a single interface for the life cycle management of application code, digital certificates and data.
To deliver its products, Netheos leverages a multi-disciplinary and complementary team of experts with extensive experience in electronics, computer science, and mathematics. The company regularly hires and trains new staff to continue meeting customer demand and to support its growth.
Netheos is a prize-winner of the French Ministry of Research technical innovation competition. A Young Innovative Company collaborating on several public-sector and private research programs, Netheos benefits from the support of numerous institutional partners.
Research to support innovation
Ongoing research work at Netheos enables the company to leverage FPGA-type platforms to strengthen critical and cryptographic operations, while providing the optimal balance of performance-surface-security. This makes it possible to deploy "cable-connected" security modules through software and to benefit from reconfigurability to improve performance and security, particularly with respect to SPA, DPA and DEMA type hardware attacks.
In terms of fundamental mathematics and computer science, Netheos focuses its research on asymmetric elliptic curve cryptographic algorithms. The company's work in this field includes:
- Analysis and construction of authentication schemes
- Analysis and construction of key-exchange protocols
- Analysis of security modules and proof-of-security
In this context, Netheos is seeking to develop and deliver alternatives to modern cryptographic protocols that are patented, such as ECMQV.
In its five years doing business, Netheos has continually developed its innovations, and now has cryptographic technologies that are at the cutting-edge of today's scientific advances at its disposal. Some Netheos technologies are currently being used in French National Research Programs that involve renowned public-sector laboratories.
